Habitual wombler - happiest in my studio or at the seaside...

I am a mixed-media artist, I love what I do and you have no idea how good it feels to say that!

Reluctant to see anything go into landfill if it can be reused, I am passionate about making as much use of the random things we as a nation might otherwise discard. From seaside to city nothing is safe from the very real possibility that it may find itself in my studio or workshop being transformed - from random pieces of furniture and old wooden boxes, to the ocean plastics and tiny pieces of seaglass found amongst grains of sand and pebbles on the beach, I delight in rescuing and where possible reusing it all.

My glass is old greenhouse panes, picture glass, windows or bottles, everything else is a serendipitous find! Based in Dorset UK, my studio is in a log cabin in my garden and though a little chilly in the winter, the summer months are an absolute delight!

My most recent work makes use of the ghost fishing nets and fishing debris we find on our family beach cleans along our beautiful Jurassic Coast - I use it to create my original monotypes and these form the unique boats sails I now use for my sailing boats.

I am passionate about our oceans and my love affair with our spectacular coastline, our turquoise sea, our wildlife, is an ever evolving one. We all need to play our part in acting responsibly and if by using some of this awful ocean plastic to create my work I am able to highlight this disaster in a way that helps people to take notice then that is a start.

The range of colours in this rawest of environments, ever changing as the sky, sea and sand do their thing makes my heart sing, I hope that my art expresses this in a way that my words are unable to.
